Carolina Huertas is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, specializing in bioeconomy policy, ecosystem-service valuation, and sustainable forest governance. She combines experience from academia and the private sector in operations, environmental consulting, and research coordination in Europe and Latin America. This background gives her a practitioner’s lens for policy design and implementation. Her work examines financial instruments and governance that enable climate-resilient, biodiversity-positive transitions in forest and land use. She partners with communities, firms, and public institutions to align incentives, co-produce evidence, and translate knowledge into practical solutions for local needs. As an IACGB Bioeconomy Youth Champion, she advocates inclusive, youth-informed bioeconomy strategies. More information: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2656-8644.
