Vladimir Popov, Dr.Sci. (Biochemistry), is a leading Russian expert in the areas of bioeconomy and biotechnology. He is currently Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). As President of the Federal Research Centre of Biotechnology of RAS, he is heading the laboratory of Enzyme Engineering. He is further a member of the Coordination Council for Biotechnology Development under the Russian Government, as well as Coordinator of the Russian Technology Platform “Bio-Industry and Bio-Resources, BioTech2030”. In addition, Popov represents Russia in various international organizations, e.g. the BNCT Working Party of OECD.
