After completing der PhD at the University of Rhode Island (USA), Morakot Tanticharoen became a lecturer at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Thonburi (now KMUTT) where she has cofounded the School of Energy and Materials & the Division of Biotechnology, later served as its Dean and Dean of School of Bioresources and Technology. She is a leading researcher in the field of microbiology and biotechnology. She was appointed as Director of National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from 2000 – 2008. She also served as Chairman of the ASEAN Sub-Committee on Biotechnology from 2005- 2008. Now, she is the senior advisor to NSTDA President. She also serves as the senior advisor to KMUTT President and as Professor Emeritus at KMUTT.
