Jose Alvarado is a biorefinery master's student from the joint Erasmus Mundus program. He has experience working in the R&D sector, where he focused on finding ways to valorize agro-industrial byproducts, particularly on recovering materials of interest. Jose's primary focus is on tropical products such as coffee and pineapple. He believes that the bioeconomy can contribute to adopting productive systems based on the circular economy and green chemistry. He has completed internships at the University of Bologna and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and is interested in generating international cooperation for research.
