Bram Kerssemakers has a great interest in the transition to a strong bioeconomy and the multidisciplinary challenges that come with it. He started his academic career at Wageningen University and Research and further followed his curiosity with a PhD in industrial fermentation at the Technical University of Denmark. Even more aware of the complexity associated to technology development and market introduction of new products, he started working for the European funding agency Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking. Currently, Bram works as program manager Protein Port, a network organization focusing on the protein transition. Here he takes a connecting role between academia, industry and governments.
